
Charlotte graduated as a Community Engaged Scholar from the University of North Carolina Asheville where she studied Anthropology. After school, she served two years as an AmeriCorps Member in the field of environmental sustainability and conservation with a focus in agriculture in Western North Carolina and Nashville, TN, her first home. In addition to seasonal farm work positions, she facilitated garden-based education in metro Nashville public schools and libraries through Plant the Seed, and supported urban farming projects through Hands on Nashville. For over two years, she was Farm Coordinator for Paragon Urban Farm, a refugee and immigrant-led community farm on reclaimed floodplain in South Nashville. She served two terms on the Steering Committee of Workers’ Dignity/Dignidad Obrera, a worker-led center in South Nashville, as well as two years on the Student/Farmworker Alliance National Steering Committee.
