• CRAFT: Market Access

    This CRAFT event is for farmers and growers interested in exploring new market avenues for their produce. Join us for a great presentation given by Melissa Julia with the Huntsville Farm and Food Hub. We will learn about the experiences of both selling and buying sustainable and organic produce with a focus on current challenges faced by farmers across the state. Afterwards, there will be a panel hosted by Melissa Julia after the presentation featuring a variety of farm-to-market experts. Come join us for this amazing learning experience at The Orion Amphitheater on September 27th, from 12-4. Lunch will be provided! Registration capped at 45 participants.

    Join us for our October Lightning CRAFT on Organic Peanuts held at Alchemy Farms and Plants LLC. in Huntsville, Alabama. Farmer Marguerite McClintock will shepard us through her process of growing organic peanuts and host a Peanut Harvest Demonstration. Participants will get hands-on learning experience in an intimate learning environment. This event is open to farmers and community members with a joy for peanuts and interest in organic practices!

  • End of the Year Bonfire

    ASAN is throwing an End of the Year Bonfire immediately following the Organic Peanuts CRAFT. As one of our last events of the year, we're inviting everyone out to Alchemy Farm and Plants LLC for a night under the stars. There will be plenty of food to roast on the fire, but don't be afraid to bring something to share! Guests are encouraged to linger for a while to enjoy the fire, the scenery, and each other. No registration necessary, just come on out and say hi!

    Join us for a full day of learning at the Choctaw Fresh Produce Field Day! The event will include workshops on soil health and land preparation, as well as a tour of Choctaw Fresh's High Tunnels! If you are interested in organic farming techniques, transition to organic, or sustainable farming, this event is for you! Breakfast and lunch will be provided! Gas cards will be available to farmers in attendance, amount dependent on distance traveled.
