University of Vermont Extension – see some great resources here! – is partnering with Cornell University Extension, University of Michigan Extension, and the National Farmers Union to host farmer led virtual workshops to discuss and plan ways to improve produce wash/pack areas and systems.
These are “working” workshops – you’ll receive a draft template to help create a plan for your farm around the topic of the workshop, be asked to actively participate during the workshop, have the option for 1 on 1 technical assistance after the webinar, and be asked to document and share your results from your plan with photos and a brief description.
The workshops will be every Wednesday, 6:30 to 8:30 pm EST, from September 1st to October 6th. Space is limited to 15 farms for each topic.
Topics include Bins, Low Cost and High Value solutions, Floors, Wash Water Management, Employee Management and Empowerment and Bubblers/Aerators.
