Throughout history, many different cultures have made paper out of various organic fibers. In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn about, and make various types of paper… including sheet, relief, and three dimensional structures. The natural overlap between plant fibers and paper making will be explored, as well as the properties of cellulose and how-and- what fibers can be harvested in Alabama. We will also discuss and see examples of natural dyes. Bring an apron, some newspaper and an old bath towel. Class limited to 15 participants.
