Dr. Eric Holt-Gimenez of Food First, a food justice nonprofit based in Oakland, CA, will be giving two public talks in Tuscaloosa on March 25th and 26th. Both events will take place in Room 123 Lloyd Hall at 7:30 p.m. On March 25th, the talk will be entitled “Dismantling Racism in the Food System”. On March 26th, Dr. Holt-Gimenez will speaking at part of a roundtable including David Snow (farmer with CSA Snow’s Bend), Andy Grace (Director of Eating Alabama), Alice Evans (Director of ASAN), and a representative from UA’s Real Food Challenge. The theme of the roundtable is Convergence in Diversity: Building an Inclusive Food Movement. Both events are open to the public.
