From the organizer:
The Local Food Safety Collaborative is excited to announce an upcoming conversation about farmers who are also Produce Safety Alliance trainers. The webinar, Stories from the Field: Farmers as PSA Trainers, will be hosted on Zoom on Thursday, March 25th, from 3-4pm EDT.
(Interested but can’t make it? Please register! All registered attendees will receive a link to the recording afterward.)
Providing the opportunity and support for farmers to demonstrate their subject matter expertise and be trainers at a Produce Safety Alliance training brings benefits to the farmer, the attendees, and the other trainers in the room. It takes some extra effort to make it work, but it’s worth it! Annalisa Hultberg, a statewide Extension Educator in Food Safety at the University of Minnesota, will share her experiences supporting farmers to become trainers. Next, Laura Frerichs from Loon Organics and Tenisio Seanima from Natures Candy Farms will share how they became trainers, the benefits being a farmer trainer brings to the attendees, and the benefits it brings to their farms.
About half of the webinar will be dedicated to audience Q&A, so please bring your questions and experiences to share!
