Gleaning is the act of collecting leftover crops from farmers’ fields after they have been commercially harvested or on fields where it is not economically profitable to harvest. This is very helpful because it allows distribution of fresh, local produce to those in need.
Sunnyland Satsuma Farm has invited Feeding the Gulf Coast to host a satsuma gleaning event Saturday, January 7, from 9 am – 1 pm. Volunteers are needed to help pick satsumas!
