WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Produce safety educators and others who work with fruit and vegetable growers who are interested in becoming PSA Trainers or PSA Lead Trainers. Those who attend become PSA Trainers and are able to offer the PSA standardized curriculum to train fresh produce growers under the supervision of a PSA Lead Trainer. The training meets the regulatory requirements in the FDA’s Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Produce Safety Rule.
EXPECTED QUALIFICATIONS PRIOR TO ATTENDING
Individuals are expected to have basic knowledge in four competency areas:
- Produce Safety Scientific Knowledge and Experience
- Fruit and Vegetable Production Knowledge
- Effective Training Delivery
- Knowledge of the FSMA Produce Safety Rule
