Hosted by the Local Food Safety Collaborative (LFSC), led by the National Farmers Union Foundation: The training will cover the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). This act aims to ensure the safety of the U.S. food supply. Many producers may not be covered by the rules of the act, but those that plan to grow and meet market demands will need the training as a part of their Food Safety Plan. The training will cover seven modules and will take a full eight-hour day.
Fruit and vegetable growers and others interested in learning about produce safety, the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Produce Safety Rule, Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs), and co-management of natural resources and food safety are encouraged to attend.
