From the organizers:

At least ten oyster farms now dot the Alabama shoreline of Mobile Bay and Mississippi Sound. How did they come to be? One of our presenters will be Dr. Bill Walton, Director of the Auburn University Shellfish lab at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab. His research on oysters has led to a new off-bottom oyster production industry. Our other presenter is Dr. Chuck Wilson, former Director of the LSU Sea Grant program and owner of Navy Cove Oysters, LLC of Fort Morgan. Theirs is a success story of research transformed into commercial reality.

Upon completion of presentations, there will be a question and answer period.

A $5 donation at the door is suggested.
