Goals of the Youth Assembly:

1. Create space for young people to connect, build community, have fun, share ideas
2. Identify Challenges facing young people in Birmingham
3. Educate, Engage, Mobilize young people around local environmental and social justice issues
4. Start building a youth agenda that addresses these challenges

This event is being made possible by grassroots efforts of youth deeply rooted in the Birmingham area who believe that it’s important for young people to be equipped with the knowledge, skills, community support and confidence needed to contend with some of the most pressing and complicated social, economic, and political problems we face today. The time for youth to be heard is NOW! The Power Shift Network is supporting this project in addition to local community partners.
