Invasive plants can destroy the quality of your land! Want to know how to get a grip on these pesky plants? This workshop is for you!

About this Event

Come learn about invasive plant species within the Choccolocco Creek Watershed as well as throughout Alabama. Invasive plants can severely alter the landscape flora and fauna as they overrun native species and crops. If you own property in Alabama, this seminar is a must for identifying and controlling invasive plants on your land. Learn from the Alabama Invasive Plant Council professionals on recognizing and controlling these harmful species from overtaking our landscapes. Topics include:

  • Invasive Plant Identification, Biology and Control – Nancy Loewenstein, Extension Specialist with Auburn University School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences and the Alabama Cooperative Extension System and Executive Director of the Alabama Invasive Plant Council and Chair of the National Association of Invasive Plant Councils.
  • Choccolocco Creek Watershed Invasive Plant Database – Kevin Jenne, Biologist and Coordinator for the Choccolocco Creek Watershed
  • Invasive Plant Control: From Start to Finish Jacob Hodnett, Alabama Invasive Plant Council, Dow AgroSciences Technical Sales, and Agronomist for ALDOT.
