***THIS IS A FREE, VIRTUAL EVENT****
After postponing our April event, we are BACK. Our 2nd CRAFT of 2020 will be our first attempt at a virtual event. The McDowell Farm School will lead a virtual workshop on homestead-scale poultry-keeping. We will have lots of space for Q&A, just like a regular CRAFT event, and space at the end for breakout rooms, where we’ll try to simulate the farmer-to-farmer networking that makes CRAFT events so great.
Invite your friends at https://www.facebook.com/events/1486501644886636.
Go to https://bit.ly/CRAFTmay. Zoom call-in info will be sent to you after you register. Registration is required, but all registration fees are waived — all virtual CRAFT events will be FREE for all attendees, until further notice.
We will also live stream the event on ASAN’s Facebook page.
WHAT IS CRAFT?
CRAFT (Collaborative Regional Alliance for Farmer Training) is a model that blends on-farm, farmer-led training with community-building for farmers, farm employees, interns, and apprentices. Central Alabama CRAFT started in fall 2019 and is led by a farmer steering committee with administrative coordination from ASAN. Learn more about CRAFT at http://asanonline.org/craft.
I’M NOT A FARMER, CAN I STILL ATTEND?
YES! CRAFT events are open to all! The primary goal of CRAFT is to build skills, expertise, and interconnectivity among current and aspiring sustainable farmers, so please bear this in mind when asking questions, etc. Please help us ensure the space primarily serves the needs of the farmers (active and aspiring) in the “room.”
