2018 Organic Oklahoma Conference
October 10 @ 8:00 am - October 11 @ 5:00 pm$60.00
From the organizers:
New and experienced growers and gardeners who want to learn more about organic and sustainable production practices are invited to attend the 2018 Organic Oklahoma Conference Oct. 10-11 in Oklahoma City.
This annual fall workshop, which will be held at the Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City Student Center. Is proof of the strong interest in organic farming and gardening across the state.
“This conference means Oklahomans don’t have to travel out of the state to receive solid and valid information for their farm or garden,” said Lynn Brandenberger, OSU Cooperative Extension horticulture food crops specialist.
OSU Cooperative Extension and OSU-OKC are partnering with the U.S. Department of Agriculture – Natural Resources Conservation Service and several other organizations to help provide a slate of research-based information during the conference.
Topics on tap for the two-day workshop include tips for progressing from gardener to farmer, cover cropping for organic production, food safety, low-input crops, organic farming experiences and permaculture.
The $60 nonrefundable registration fee covers lunch, refreshments, supplies and other event costs.
To request a registration form and pay by check, contact Janelle Malone at [email protected] or 405-744-3669. Checks should be made payable to OSU Plant and Soil Sciences Department.
The deadline for registering for the conference is Sept. 25.
For more information about the conference, contact Malone or the nearest county OSU Extension office.
