From the organizers:
Congressman Robert Aderholt, member of the House Appropriations Committee, will be a speaker at lunch, along with two cancer researchers. The program will also offer information on how to apply for ACS research grants, a TED Talk style presentation by four top cancer researchers and plenty of networking opportunities, including a reception. This event brings together Alabama’s key leaders and decision makers in business, medical research, cancer care, government and health policy. I hope you will attend.
The focus is on the need for Congress to increase federal funding for cancer research so that progress can continue against a disease that kills more than 1,600 people in the United States each day. More importantly, this distinguished event not only helps unite those in Alabama who are fighting to end cancer, it serves to empower ACS CAN and its work to ensure that elected officials across the country make cancer a top national priority. Together, we can make a difference.
Registration begins at 11:00 a.m.
