2015 Regional Food & Farm Forum in Mentone

This is the first in a four-part series of Regional Food & Farm Forums hosted by the Alabama Sustainable Agriculture Network (ASAN).  These Forums aim to open the floor for rich dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and relationship-building across ASAN’s network.  More on the series here.

ASAN member price:  $5
Nonmember price:  $20

Cost of registration includes dinner, provided by our awesome host farm, The Farm at Windy Hill.

(**) Lunch is not included, but you for an additional $8.50 you may pre-order lunch (when you register), which will be provided by the Beautiful Rainbow Catering Company in Gadsden — check them out!

If cost is a concern, please contact alice@asanonline.org / 256-743-0742.  You may be able to contribute as a volunteer.  Regardless, no one will be turned away because of inability to pay.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS:
The Farm at Windy Hill is located at 445 Road 942, Mentone, AL 35984 — the driveway to the farm turns off of Alabama Highway 117:

From Fort Payne, AL:  From I-59 N, take the AL-40/AL-117 exit, EXIT 231, toward Hammondville/Valley Head. Turn right onto AL Highway 40/AL-40/AL-117. Drive just over a mile and then turn right onto US Highway 11 S/AL-7/AL-117, then take the first left to stay on Alabama Highway 117. Ascend the mountain through Valley Head and into and through downtown Mentone (just over 6 miles). The farm’s gravel driveway is on the right off of 117 just after passing a shop called Sassafras that has large metal sculptures in the yard. Take the gravel driveway up the hill and bear right when the driveway forks.

From Chattanooga, TN:  From I-59 S, take the AL-40/AL-117 exit, EXIT 231, toward Hammondville/Valley Head. Turn right onto AL Highway 40/AL-40/AL-117. From Atlanta, GA: From I-75 N, take the GA-140 W exit, EXIT 306, toward Adairsville. Turn left onto GA-140/Folsom Rd NW. Continue to follow GA-140 for 16 miles. Turn right onto Martha Berry Hwy NE/US-27 N/GA-1 and continue to follow US-27 N/GA-1 for 13.9 miles. Turn left onto Highway 48/GA-48, crossing into Alabama. Continue on this road, which becomes Alabama Highway 117, for 16.7 miles. The farm’s gravel driveway is on the left off of 117. (If you pass a shop called Sassafras that has large metal sculptures in the yard, you’ve gone too far.) Take the gravel driveway up the hill and bear right when the driveway forks.
